Dr. de la Sienra, from Latin America, is one of the outstanding Christian thinkers of our time. A Doctor of Philosophy from University of Stanford in California, he is a published author, international speaker, and recognized authority in the areas of Christian philosophy, the philosophy of education, theology, philosophical economics, microeconomics, and Latin American history of intellectual thought. He is currently Professor of Philosophy and Economics at Universidad Veracruzana, director of the Institute of Economics of the same.

He was born in Monterrey, Mexico, on November 7, 1951. After completing his Bachelor in Philosophy in 1982, Garíca de la Sienra was accepted as advisee by Prof. Patrick at Stanford University, California, where he obtained a Ph.D. in Philosophy in 1986 with a dissertation on the logical foundations of the labor theory of value.

He has also been a research fellow at the Institute of Philosophical Research of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) (1986-1993) and a research fellow and professor of microeconomics at the Center for Teaching and Research of Economics (CIDE) (1993-1998).

Besides a book on the logical foundations of the Marxian theory of value and an anthology on philosophy of religion, both published in the Netherlands, Dr. Garca de la Sienra has published around sixty papers in international journals of philosophy or economics. His main fields of interest are the philosophy of economics, philosophy of religion, and general philosophy.

He is a visiting professor at E. T. S., and Director of the Valera Project at the Seminary, which is currently translating the major works of Hermann Dooyeweerd into Spanish. His most recent project is the Spanish translation of Dr. Roy Clouser’s seminal work, The Myth of Religious Neutrality.
